Who writes this, and how
We publish 30 guides about running AI safely in a school or a home. If you are going to act on any of them, you are entitled to know who wrote them and on what basis.
Who publishes this
Navōn is built and operated by Navōn LLC, a Florida limited liability company based in Miami. The guides are published by the company rather than attributed to an individual author, because that is the honest description of how they are produced.
We are a new company. We do not have a roster of named experts, and we would rather say so than invent one. If that matters to your decision, it should — and you should weigh what we publish on whether it is useful and checkable, not on who signed it.
How these are written
- Every claim we make about what Navōn does is verified against the running product before it is published. If a guide says the filter runs on the server, or that it refuses a request when the safety check is unavailable, that has been tested.
- We do not cite statistics we cannot source. Where something is a judgement or an opinion, it is written as one.
- Where a guide describes a limitation of our own product, it stays in. Several articles describe problems we found in Navōn and fixed; that is why we can describe them accurately.
- Guides are dated, and the date shown is the date of the version you are reading.
On halachic questions
Several guides touch on subjects with a halachic dimension — AI in a yeshiva, scheduling around Shabbos and Yom Tov, what a talmid may rely on. None of them paskens, and none of them should be read as though it does.
Where a halachic question arises we say plainly that it belongs to your rav. We write about the practical and technical layer underneath: what a product can be configured to do, and what it cannot. We also say, repeatedly, that a language model is not a posek, that it will produce confident answers and invent sources, and that it must not be treated as authoritative on halacha.
What we will not claim
- That any rav, institution or organisation endorses Navōn, unless they have said so and are named with their permission.
- A number of schools, families or users. When there is a real number worth stating, we will state it.
- That our filtering catches everything. It reduces exposure; it does not eliminate it, and any vendor telling you otherwise is not describing a real system.
- Certifications, audits or accreditations we do not hold.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it and say that we did. Write to info@navon.org or use the contact form. Corrections to a guide are noted on the guide itself rather than made silently.
